British military watch with large, stainless steel case (37x47mm – excluding crown) This one is a very special piece – It shows a very desireable stardust dial.This is an extra dimension! Description: Dial with the Cyma trademark and War Department arrow. The dial with 1-12 hour digits, and 60-second scale showing luminous hour marks. Subsidiary seconds dial at 18.00hrs. Specially designed and custom made for the British Army. W.W.W. stands for Watch, Wrist, Waterproof and was the descriptive code used by the British Army to identify it as a piece of equipment. There were 12 Swiss manufacturers of the W.W.W.’s and as such, the collection is commonly referred to by collectors and dealers alike as “The Dirty Dozen”. Condition: The watch is in very good condition, case minor signs of use. The original factory dial is in complete original condition, stardust pattern due to the influence of Radium lume. The sword hands and crown are all correct to the original specification of the watch, lume is complete and shows a lovely creamy color. Screwback case with broad arrow and full military markings. Cyma 234 calibre movement is running well, full movement service in June 2020. The watch comes with an used leather NATO strap and service document. |
