British military watch with large, stainless steel case (37x47mm –
excluding crown)
Typical black dial with the Cyma trademark and War Department arrow. The
dial with 1-12 hour digits, and 60-second scale showing
luminous hour marks. Subsidiary seconds dial at 18.00hrs.
Specially designed and custom made for the British Army. W.W.W. stands
for Watch, Wrist, Waterproof and was the descriptive code used by the
British Army to identify it as a piece of equipment. There were 12 Swiss
manufacturers of the W.W.W.’s and as such, the collection is commonly
referred to by collectors and dealers alike as “The Dirty Dozen”.
The
watch is in good original condition.The sword hands and
crown are all correct to the original specification of the watch.
Screwback case with broad arrow and full military markings.
Cyma 234 calibre movement is running well and keeping
excellent time.
